A moment with sol
The first shot that
was shown in this film was a medium long shot of an eagle on a wooden stand,
when seeing this eagle it could be seen as polysemic knowing that an audience
can have many different meanings of why this eagle was used and what it represents
in this short film. Through out this film Non- diegetic sound is played, the
music that is played is very slow paced, this could try and create a different
kind of emotion for an audience to feel when watching this eagle and could also
try and change there view on what this eagle represents.
The next shot the cuts
into a long shot of the eagle flying off the wooden stand and into the cameras
view. Technical codes are used through out this film, but In this scene a deep
focus is used to blur out the background and full concentration on this eagle.
The eagle could represent a symbolic code to the viewer this eagle could made
to stand for something, there is a meaning behind this film and a meaning
behind what the eagle is used for. For example in America the bald eagle is
used to symbolise freedom of their country.
The eagle then fly’s
to the arm of a young boy, when the eagle lands technical codes are used, the
camera goes into a high angle showing how important and how powerful this bird
is, this could also change the views of the viewer of what this eagle could
represent.
Then cuts to a close
up of the young boys face showing a reaction shot of the bird landing on his
arm. This could also link to the first scene of being polysemic having a hidden
meaning, and also connect with a symbolic code, meaning the eagle could be a
symbolic code for freedom showing that the boy has freedom or is ready to have
freedom which is polysemic.
There is also signs of matching on action that creates continuity when watching this short film. for example when the eagle fly towards the camera then camera then cut to a shot which also involves the young boy but the eagle is still in the same position it was in from the last shot this makes each transition flow into each other to create a film which is more realistic and easier to watch.
This film is a linear film with a closed ending, this short film has a beginning which is introducing the bird a middle of introducing the boy and showing the bird land on his arm and ending of the bird flying up but them coming back to the boy. it is also a closed ending knowing what has happened and the end of this short film without leaving the viewer confused or feeling unknown about the ending of this short film.
