Task 2: Top expert interview tips

Paxman: newsnight

When watching the interviews of Paxman, he uses open questions in most if not all of this interviews to let the interviewee share their story and to explain themselves and what they believe/ agree against. He uses very clear and direct questions, also creating a lighthearted feel with the interview so the interviewee feels comfortable when answering questions. He is also blunt when in more of a political informational interview to get the information he needs using hard questions trying to get a direct answer.

Jenni Murray: Women's Hour

In the second clip showing Jenny Murray Presenter of 'Women's Hour' on BBC radio 4 she shares her success with interviewing different people and how to conduct a will strutted planed interview. She shares that she has a lot of research done before going in and interviewing a person, this is so she can mould her questions around the information she has found to get a direct and
useful bit of information from the interviewee. She also says that having clear direct questions are again suitable for having a useful interview, trying to get straight to the point and getting the information your setting out to get. One more this is hard listening as she explained. Listening to the interviewee is where you get everything you set this interview up to get, asking sharp direct question's sets up a structure for your interview to then build upon.

Ellen: The Ellen show
Here is a clip of my choice of style of interview, This is an entertainment interview that is is some way informative. Because of the style of interview the audience wants to know about Selena Gomez and whats going on with her personal and career life. Ellen then asks direct, open and multiple questions so the interviewee has space to explain and share her information. Ellen uses a light hearted tone, which makes Selena Gomez feel comfortable with the questions, which allows her to open up more. I feel like Interviews that are shown Online are more assessable to everyone because they are up all the time, which you can go to when you want to when the certain interview program is on.
