Task 1: BBC art of interview and Introduction for the handbook

When listening to 'BBC art of interview' I found out many different doe's and dont's to conducting an interview that I will be adding to my guide and I can apply to my own interview that I will be putting together.

When listening I picked up a few points that summarised interviews as a whole. They explained that to have a good, strong interview you have to plan everything that will be taking place in the interview, from the script to the wardrobe and make to the person that you are going to be interviewing. Another point is to make sure you have selected the right person to talk about the issue, don't interview someone who has nothing to do with the situation and is giving an outsiders opinion. Make sure you know the questions you are going to ask, research the subject you are going to talk about knowing what you are asking and what fits in with the information you are trying to receive.

I also picked up on points that i did not know was done when planning for an interview. Using the rule of three to get a certain bit of information out from the interviewee, asking the same question three times so the person finally shares the information because of their frustration of the repeated question. Another point that I picked up was having to go off script in some circumstances because of the answers that your interviewee has given.

Here is your need to know guide of how to conduct and when to spot a perfect, strong informational interview. Their are a few different subjects that interviews can be used for including emotional, entertainment and informational. These themes can also overlap in a few interviews.  Most try and get some information out from the interviewee. Others try and entertain or give you a emotion feeling towards it. The purpose of most interviews is to gain information from one person to understand more about a situate or event that is taking place, by asking everyone else. many rely on this as a big source of information because its a formal and fast way to get the information you need from the person you need. because there are many different types of purposes of interviews the interviewee are different. For entertainment a celebrity would be used to talk about their life and to promote a certain album of theirs. A hard hearted interview would be political and informational, which would involve political persons like Boris Johnson or James Cameron. This is  a starting point on trying to put together and understand the main strict of an interview.
