Edits and feedback from clients

Here is the first edit of my corporate video for LaSwap, I showed this to my client Mr Owen the head of year 12.

When showing him the video he gave me feedback on what to improve to make it better and more professional. He told me to add more visuals over the interview of the different staff at LaSwap so concentration of an audience would stay. I was also told to tighten up different mistakes made in the edit like jump cuts and random transitions.

Here is my second edit of my corporate video for LaSwap, I again showed this to one of my media teachers for more feedback.

I got told to soften traditions of overlapping visuals on interviewees to create a better flow when watching. Also to make lettering when inducing speakers into a different colour so an audience can see them better. The last thing i was told was to create a softer finish to my edit by overlapping and fading one image into another again to create a softer and better flow when watching.

Here is my final edit of my LaSWAP corporate video that will be shown to my two clients on wednesday the 25th of March 2015

Assignment 5 - Project management

Monitoring and reviewing, problem solving; Prioritisation; Crisis management; Quality control:

Peer feedback: When editing my radio package I asked for peer feedback from the other students in my class asking them what I should change. The main changes I got told were;

- Cut out some language that in informal like “guys” when addressing my cadets.
- Cut out the silence after the question was being asked and the time they were thinking about their answer so it flows and sounds professional.

They also helped my pick some backing sound tracks that went well with my theme and the radio station I will out this section on.

Self-evaluating:  When putting together my edit and listening back I decided to change a few sound cuts that were shown through the group interview. I also found it a lot more difficult to edit an interview when there is a group due to everyone speaking over each other and some voices were distant and muffled.

Problem Solving:
When going through the editing stage for my audio production, i found a few problems that i tried to correct to make it sound professional and easy to listen to. My first problem was a few audio cuts in my interview, making the audio sound very disjunctive, which did not give it a easy fell when listening. To solve this I used my editing skills to cut out and replace certain audio sections to create a piece that follows better when listening.

Another problem I came across when interviewing for my production is my location was not available for a few hours when I booked the location for. To solve this i asked my interviewees to residual and come back to the location the next day to film their section of my radio package.

Prioritisation:
To make sure my production was as professional to be included on Radio 4 I decided to pay they most attention onto my interviewees with my cast. This is because i wanted to get the best information to apply to my radio package, again creating a well detailed explanation of what St John Ambulance is trying to put across. I then decide to focus on the editing stage, putting together my detailed explanation  making the information and advise flow.

Quality control:
To make sure that my audio sounds professional i need to make sue the quality of my recording has been thought through. For example check background noise, which I took in consideration whilst filming, I filmed in a quiet area outside of the normal area which they use, this is covered in fabric boards around the room helping with the ambient sound around the room.
